The rumored Leica M camera with EVF (Leica M11-V?) is expected to be announced in October
The Leica M camera with EVF camera (Leica M11-V?) is rumored to be officially announced in October 2025:
- The new model will be based on the M11-P but with a clean top plate and no ISO dial – see the leaked prototype pictures above.
- Keep in mind that there is still a slight chance that the new camera with an EVF will be called “Leica M-V” rather than “Leica M11-V”.
- The Leica M12 and Leica with EVF are two different models. I already reported that the rumored Leica M camera with EVF doesn’t mean the optical rangefinder is dead. The latest Leica M11 firmware update has stabilized the M11 camera line, and Leica will continue to sell this model for some time. There will be no Leica M12 this year (2025) and possibly not even next year (unless it arrives very late in 2026).
During my last visit to Wetzlar, part of the production line was covered and not visible to visitors with the sign “Here is an innovative product in the making. Let us surprise you!”
